Colombo, Jan. 12 (Daily Mirror) – Sri Lankan cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga made headlines today as he claimed the fifth-best men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling figures in a thrilling match against Zimbabwe.
Wanindu Hasaranga, the spin maestro from Sri Lanka, marked a triumphant return to international cricket by delivering outstanding figures of 7/19.
The figures represent the second-best performance by a Sri Lankan bowler, trailing only Chaminda Vaas’s extraordinary 8/19 achieved against the same opposition 23 years ago – a record that still holds the title for the best in men’s ODI history.
Both teams will now redirect their attention to an impending three-match T20I series scheduled to kick off on January 14 in Colombo.
